This past weekend we went to Doha, Qatar. Brad took two personal days at work, and we went for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I will post another blog about our trip, but while we were there we FINALLY made it to a soccer game. I admit that I am not the biggest sports fanatic, but I do love watching a game from time to time. In the Gulf, soccer is big, and I have wanted to see a game during my time here. Given that FIFA 2022 is going to be in Doha, it was great to see a game there myself. Her are some pictures
Walking up to the stadium, with the Torch hotel in the background
Notice the "white" crowd. I know, I was surprised that no one was wearing jerseys!
The man in front of us was very much into the game... again as supportive as he was of his team, still no jersey or supporting color.
This little guy provided some additional entertainment...
Not a great close up, but here is the Emir (King) congratulating the team on their win of the game, and the win of the Emir Cup.
Celebrating with fireworks
The entourage to pick-up the Emir.
cheers,
Serena
