The Netherlands.... Part 1: Being the tourist

Myself and Brad had our last stop before arriving in Canada in the Netherlands. I myself am half Dutch, both my Grandfathers were born and raised there, so for me getting to finally go was a dream come true. This post will be of us two being tourists in the country... seeing all the 'typical' sights. My next post will be us going to see where both my Grandfathers were born and raised!

So here are the picture highlights... starting with our two very rainy days in Amsterdam
First night in Amsterdam... getting my Dutch on LOL...
So many windmills... I just couldn't seem to get e

Ok so that kinda sums up my tourist part... sorry about the crappy picture alignments... I have no clue how to use this sometimes. Any they really are not in any specific order as I was unsure how to move them all around.

Dooie (or however they say/spell it LOL) aka bye,

Osterreich and Ceska Republika

Well we are back in Canada, just arrived, but I am very much behind on blogging. Right now I am actually trying to write an essay to complete one of my university courses, but figured blogging would be a great way to procrastinate.

So now to it... next stop after Croatia was Vienna, Austria... here are some picture highlights.

I think that this is the university, not entirely sure... but it is beautiful from far and close up.

 Looking through a gateway

Infront of the parliment building. It is too big of a building to get it all in one picture.

The front view of the palace!

The palace from the back, and all the amazing gardens that surround it.

We had our picnic lunch in this park. So beautiful - the whole city was amazing with parks and buildings.

Next stop was to Brno, Czech Republic.
Brad went to university in Brno, so we decided to go there so I could see where he studied, and he wanted a walk down memory lane...

This is near is residence where he would catch the train to school each day...

Eating pizza, where he often went for lunch...

 An amazing meal - rizotto

At the local fruit and veggie market

Next stop... Prague, Czech Republic

Prague at night, such a great skyline

 The extremely LOOONNNGGGG escalators

Well and there it is.... we leave Czech Republic and off to the Netherlands for the last country of our trip... more on that later... too tired to write, and I really need to get back to my essay.

Cheers,
Serena
